Ileana Gonzalez, Founding Director

Ileana Gonzalez, grew up in USA outside the nation’s capital Washington DC. There, she studied International Affairs at George Washington University. In 1998, she moved to Madrid, Spain to earn an MBA at ICADE, after which she began her professional career in several areas, including linguistics, teaching, financial services and project management.  

In 2009, Ileana had the opportunity to travel the world; her travels took her to 6 countries and 3 continents. During her travels, she studied Ayurveda in Coimbatore in the state of Tamil Nadu, India. There she was trained in “Ayurvedic Nursing” and “Panchakarma and Nutrition” in the internationally renowed Arsha Vidya Peetam Trust. 

Up until early 2011 Ileana was practicing ayurveda in Madrid; her company Ayurveda Natural offered traditional treatments, massages, and lifestyle consulting. She also hosted a monthly radio program on EmisionNatural.com called “Ayurveda – tu salud en tus manos” and she also published numerous articles in specialised Spanish magazines.

In June 2011 Ileana started Apurva Ayurveda Healing Center in N. Virginia with the goal of bringing this ancient healing art to people in the DC Metropolitan area. Ileana has recently returned from Pune, India (Maharastha), where she spent time with Dr. Vasant Lad at the "gurukula" he hosts every year at his clinic in that city. There, Ileana got a first-hand look at the traditional, clinical application of ayurveda.
